…and though he doesn’t appear to be the kind of man that I am supposed to end up with, he intrigues me. We have long text conversations, the kind that say “1/5….and so on”, about life and dreams. We’re different. He has a 4 year old son/ I barely feed myself most days. He goes to bed around 830 every night and wakes up at 5 every morning/ Most nights I can’t sleep and struggle to get out of bed in the morning. He has a steady 9 to 5/ I’m still “figuring it out”. He wants to travel/ I want to travel. But we’re the same. And while this is not love in the making I am unashamed to say I’m glad we connected. I asked him what makes him happy and he said “being around people who welcome and appreciate him being there. There is nothing cooler than being welcomed and valued”. I thought that profoundly beautiful. Simple but beautiful. It made me reconsider where I am searching for happiness. I am thankful for my new friend, who is reminding me what is important. Love. Family. And finding something that will refresh you every morning.
